I am re-reading my message of 22 June 2016, archived at <https://www.nro.net/pipermail/iana-ipr/2016-June/000145.html>. 1. Confirm that the IETF Trust is a suitable party to hold the IPR, without any changes to the Trust’s founding documents. I believe that we are waiting for the names community to discuss that with Sidley. What progress has been made? 2. How many IPR license agreements? I believe that the idea of three separate licences for the three parts of the IANA functions is generally accepted, and it has been incorporated into the draft agreements posted on 7 July <https://www.nro.net/pipermail/iana-ipr/2016-July/000180.html>. I propose to mark this question as settled. 3. Should IPR licenses automatically terminate when IANA service providers are changed? I believe that the provisions in paragraph 3.2.c of the draft community agreement covers this: "The CCG co-chair representing an Operational Community shall have the right to instruct the IETF Trust to terminate the License Agreement with then-current IANA Operator with respect to such Operational Community’s designated IANA Service.” I propose to mark this question as settled. 4. How many community agreements? I propose to mark this question as settled, withj one community agreement. 5. Who takes the lead in drafting? The IETF Trust has already drafted the community agreement and the licence agreement. I haven’t seen a draft of the agreement for transfer of the ipr from ICANN to the Trust. Alan Barrett

ICANN participation in iana-ipr list

While we were discussion the draft principal terms document, we didn’t have any ICANN representatives in the iana-ipr group. Now that we are moving on to discussion the agreements, I think we should have some ICANN participation, including both legal and other staff. Who would be the right people? I’d suggest that any ICANN people who want to be involved end a request to German Valdez <german(a)nro.net>. Alan Barrett

Hi all, As you may know, the NRO EC has made an announcement to close the CRISP Team, with signing of the SLA: https://www.nro.net/news/icann-and-regional-internet-registries-sign-sla-fo… With this, Nurani and I believe it would not be appropriate for us to remain in this group and its mailing list. Please therefore remove us from this group and the mailing list. The RIRs who are responsible for the implementation, will be driving this process from the numbers' side, now with the legal team joining. We would like to thank everyone for the good cooperation we have had with you in this process. We truly appreciate the collaborative and constructive spirit in this group and the progress we have made together. Good luck with your next steps in the implementation of the IPR management.
