It would be very helpful to have a list of all those in the CCG from the 3 communities, and to establish a mailing list for the CCG. >From the names community, we have: Greg Shatan (co-chair) gregshatanipc(a)gmail.com Maarten Simon maarten.simon(a)sidn.nl Christopher Wilkinson lists(a)christopherwilkinson.eu (Both are copied here, although I know that they will be unable to reply to the iana-ipr list). If the numbers and protocol parameters communities could remind us of their representatives that would be most helpful. We can then have ICANN set up a mailing list and Wikispace for the CCG, unless there are views that this is best done elsewhere. Finally, it might be useful for those CCG members in Hyderabad to meet informally. I will be in Hyderabad, and it would be helpful to know who else will be there. Thanks! Greg

As flagged by Greg and Alan, removing "IANA" is indeed not what we are doing at all. Rather, the reference to "IANA" is being updated to comply with the usage requirements of the IPR agreements. It concerns me as well. I assume this is based on an interpretation of the IANA trademark license. What is this interpretation, and how is it is being communicated?, etc. What are the changes, exactly? What effect will they have? Will there be any technical effects whatsoever. It's unfortunate that this information wasn't communicated to this group during the planning phase of this project. My gut reaction is that this is potentially a misinterpretation or over-reaction to elements of the trademark license. But I don't want to jump to conclusions without additional information. As a result much of our documentation has been revised to remove the term. ]]] I could understand if ICANN/PTI were changing the bare term “IANA” to more specific terms like “IANA operator”, “IANA functions”, “IANA services”, etc., but removing the term doesn’t seem useful to me. Signature exchange logistics/tally

All, Apologies if this has already been settled and I just didn¹t realize it, but here is a list of the signature pages that will need to be exchanged for the IANA IPR transaction and a way to keep track of what has been exchanged: Assignment Agreement ICANN Trust License Names ICANN (for Names Community) Trust License Numbers RIRs Trust License Protocol IETF Trust Community Agreement Trust RIRs [received] ICANN (for Names) IETF We have already received the RIR signatures on the Community Agreement. Proposed Process for Executing Agreements

All; Below is a proposal for processing the documents for signing. Please advise if this works for you. Sam - Please advise when ICANN will be able to sign. Thanks Ray IANA Transition Proposed Doc Execution Process 1. The Trust will coordinate the execution of the Agreements with the Trust signing each document last. 2. Trust (Ray) will send the appropriate documents to the appropriate parties as follows: a. IANA IPR Assignment agreement to ICANN - Sam b. All IANA License agreements to ICANN - Sam c. Community Agreement sequence 1. RIRs - Alan Barrett to circulate among RIRs and return, then 2. Names - ICANN on behalf of Names - Sam, then 3. IETF - ISOC to execute after request by IAOC after request by IAB d. IETF Chair enters date at the top of each and signs all for the Trust “This ____ Agreement is entered into as of this ___ day of _____” e. Executed Agreements will be published online at: http://trustee.ietf.org/iana.html for retrieval by parties Note: all the Agreements have 21 Sept. 2016 in the upper LH corner e.g.: http://trustee.ietf.org/documents/Assignment_Agreement09-21-2016clean.htm All agreements: http://trustee.ietf.org/iana.html The purpose of this date was to identify the Agreements approved by the parties. We suggest deleting this.
