Dear Colleagues,
I wanted to let you you that I am stepping down from my post at the committee as of 31 May 2021. The decision did not come easy but had to be made due to various circumstances. RIPE community is informed about the matter and I have full confidence that they will find an excellent replacement to fill in the vacancy in the next couple of months.
Until 31 May, I will be engaged with the committee duties required as usual.
I want to note that I valued my time serving at this committee a lot. I always saw IANA stewardship transition process as a very important milestone in the Internet eco-system we work within and especially from the Numbers Community point of view. Once the transition was completed, I had the privilege to work within the committee following its inception and help with the new processes and procedures to get it going.
Contributing to this post-transition process within the capacity of this committee was very rewarding and I’ve learned a lot. In particular, it was wonderful to witness how RIR Staff worked together with the RIR community members in order to ensure the new processes and format put in place were monitored well and in fact functioning towards operational excellence while internal processes in doing so were kept extremely transparent too. For that too, I am extremely proud of this committee.
Thanks to everyone involved and put the time and effort. Special thanks to our previous Chair Nurani Nimpuno and our current Chair Bertrand Cherrier, for kicking off the committee processes and making sure committee functioned well and delivered.
Keep up the good work!
Kind regards Filiz Yilmaz
