Hi

It was published in the NRO Website but I think it’s a good time to remind the RIR communities of the openness of the IANA RC meetings now that a new cycle is about to start.

Something I can help to coordinate with the RIR communications staff

Regards

German

Hi all,

Thanks for that Louie. I’m happy to have a brief discussion about this at our call. In fact, in our post mortem from last year, we said we’d ask the RIR Communications teams to help with this. The action point was taken by Jason, but we might ask the RIR staff members of the team to follow up on this.

As to Martin’s question, these calls are indeed open to anyone to attend. Can I confirm with you German that you have announced the call and made the details available publicly?

Kind regards,

Nurani

I just had to tweak it. Here's version 0.2 of the infographic. (I'm going to bed now. 🙂 )

Maybe we can use an infographic for the 1st page. I hacked something together from Canva.com. Please see attached.

Louie, German — one point I can use some assistance with. I seem to recall these calls are open to public observers. Is this correct? Since this list is open and meeting info has gone out, I would like to ensure that some of our seat 9 candidates are aware and can opt in if they’d like.

You are correct, Martin. The list is open and the meetings are open to public observers.

I would support the idea of emailing all the ICANN Board Seat 9 candidates with a pointer to our list and an invitation to observe on our calls.

Thank you Louie. Great stuff.

I’d like to see us consider adding an agenda item on how to boil this report down. There is a lot of good information, but my reading made me feel like I was reading the report all over. If this is an analysis, perhaps we can figure out how to get it to a one pager that is digestable by “anyone”?

Indeed, the report has more background information than actual analysis and conclusion. I believe that this approach was initially adopted so that the report can stand on their own.

I would agree, though, that it is worth revisiting to produce a more digestible report. Much of the background and supporting information can be moved to the appendix or linked to the web content.

Do you have a report format in mind? I would love to see us mimic a report that is concise, useful, and compelling.

Louie

Thanks all,

Thank you for compiling this, Nurani!

I'll try to update the draft of the 2020 report prior to the meeting tomorrow (unless someone else wants to jump and do it).
