Dear Colleagues, The 2012 Global IPv6 Deployment Survey is now closed. Thanks to the 1,444 participants in this year's survey! The purpose of the survey is to better understand where the community is moving, and what can be done to ensure the Internet community is ready and moving toward widespread adoption of IPv6. The findings from the 2012 survey will be compared to previous years to give a perspective on regional and global progress. The findings will now be analysed by TNO and the GNKS Consult IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Team. The results will be available in late August 2012. Regards, NRO Secretariat

ASO AC Re-elects Raymond Plzak to the ICANN Board

The ASO Address Council (ASO AC) has selected Raymond Alan Plzak to fill Seat 9 on the ICANN Board for a three-year term. As a result, Mr. Plzak will continue as a member of the Board following the Mid-year meeting - ICANN 44 in Prague, Czech Republic. The ASO would like to congratulate Mr. Plzak on his re-appointment and thank him for his hard work and commitment during his first term. 2012 Global IPv6 Deployment Survey Now Open

Dear Colleagues, As in previous years, the Number Resource Organization invites you to participate in the 3rd consecutive IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey on the current and future use of IPv6. The IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey is now online, and we encourage all members of our community to participate: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GlobalIPv6survey2012 The purpose of the survey is to better understand where the community is moving, and what can be done to ensure the Internet community is ready and moving toward widespread adoption of IPv6. As it is mostly the same as the survey carried out globally in 2010 and 2011, comparison of progress will be possible. Last year's results are available on the NRO website at: http://www.nro.net/documents/ipv6-survey-2011 You will note that 94% of last year’s over 1600 respondents indicated that they were interested in participating again, in 2012. We encourage all organisations to participate in this survey, which we hope will establish a comprehensive view of present IPv6 penetration and future plans for IPv6 deployment. The survey is composed of 23 questions and can be completed in about 15 minutes. For those without IPv6 allocations or assignments, or who have not yet deployed IPv6, the questions will be fewer in number. The survey will close on 30 June 2012. Results of the IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey will be presented and discussed widely. LACNIC Elects New Representative to the NRO NC / ASO AC

LACNIC is pleased to announce the election of Ricardo Patara as the representative of the LACNIC region to the ASO Address Council / NRO Number Council. The election was held on May 11th, 2012, during the LACNIC XVII meeting in the city of Quito, Ecuador. Ricardo was elected to occupy a seat in the Address Council from January 1, 2013 until December 31, 2015. ITEMS International, a consultancy engaged by the NRO to conduct this current review, delivered its report in early 2012. A public comment period closed on 6 April 2012. On 30 April 2012 the NRO submitted its considered response, formulated with the assistance of the ASO Address Council (ASO AC), to the 26 recommendations of the report and the one recommendation received during the ICANN public comment period. The Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) advises that the public Comment Phase in the selection process to elect a representative to serve on Seat Number 9 of the ICANN Board, is extended to 23:59 (UTC) Thursday, 27 April 2012. Interview Phase is also extended and will now include the period during the Address Council's face-to-face meeting on 26-27 April, immediately following the ARIN XXIX Public Policy and Members Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia.
