Presentation of the WGIG Report The WGIG Report was presented in Geneva on 18 July at a meeting open to all stakeholders. The Report of the Working Group on Internet Governance was previously transmitted on 14 July by United Nations Secretary-General Kofi A. Annan to the President of the Preparatory Committee of the World Summit on the Information Society, Ambassador Janis Karklins, and the WSIS Secretary-General, Mr Yoshio Utsumi. ICANN call for public comments on updated Proposed Review Procedure for ASO Policy Proposals.

On 31 May 2005, ICANN called for a second round of public comments on the "Review Procedure to Handle Policy Proposals Submitted by the ASO Address Council in Line with the ASO MoU" Comments received on the first public comment period have been analyzed and considered in the updated version of the procedure, which is posted for a second round of public comments in the ICANN website. Comments should be submitted by 21 June 2005. Transfer of Authority to AfriNIC and Joinder to NRO MoU

At the AfriNIC-2 meeting (being held in Maputo, Mozambique, 26-27 April), the RIRs signed letters transferring to AfriNIC formal authority for the parts of the region they had previously served. Also at this meeting, AfriNIC signed a joinder to the NRO Memorandum of Understanding, becoming an official member of the NRO. Recognition of AfriNIC as the Fifth Regional Internet Registry On 8 April 2005, during the ICANN Board meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina, AfriNIC was finally recognized as the fifth Regional Internet Registry (RIR).
